FAQs

Are Deposits Required?

Yes, all of our artists require a deposit to confirm your tattoo booking. The deposit is deducted at your final tattoo appointment.

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

What are your payment options?

All of our artists accept e-transfer or cash as payment. Nik and Janie do accept debit/credit payments.

I have to cancel my appointment, what is your policy?

If an appointment needs to be canceled/rescheduled, please contact your artist directly. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to avoid the loss of your deposit.

Arriving to your appointment 15 minutes late or more will result in the loss of your deposit.

Do you tattoo minors?

Our artists typically will not tattoo anyone under the age of 18. In the case of scar cover ups or tattoo cover ups, exceptions may be made.  A parent/guardian must be present during the full duration of the appointment. Government issued photo ID is required for both the parent/guardian and the minor.

I am pregnant, can I get tattooed?

We will not tattoo anyone who is pregnant. This is for the safety of the parent and the little one on the way.

We are more than happy to hold your deposit on file until you are ready to rebook. Please contact your artist to make arrangements.

Can I bring a friend/partner/family member to my appointment?

We love a support person! Please limit yourself to bringing along only one support person.

Can I use numbing cream?

In most cases, yes you can. Please contact your artist if you are planning to use numbing products for your appointment. There are certain brands we recommend like Zensa, Tattoo Numbing Cream and Dr.numb. Please avoid products with a high level than 5% of lidocaine.

What numbing cream should I use?

If you’re planning on using numbing products please let your tattoo artist know ahead of time.

We recommend products that have a lidocaine content of 5% or less. Tattoo Numbing Cream (white tube), Zensa, and Dr.Numb are some numbing brands that we work with.

We do sell Tattoo Numbing Cream at our studio!

When in doubt, please contact our studio or your artist. We are here to help!

How do I apply numbing cream?

Prior to appointment, ensure you have showered and have clean skin.

Apply a generous amount of numbing cream 1.5 hours before your scheduled appointment.

It’s a good idea to go a little bit above and below the selected tattoo area in case the design is in a different placement or is a different size.

It’s important to cover the area with cling wrap/plastic wrap. This ensures the numbing product stays on your skin and not your clothing. Once you arrive at the studio, your artist will remove the wrap, and clean up the area.

How to prepare for my appointment?

A good night’s sleep and a healthy meal before your appointment can make a huge difference!

Please wear clothing that allows access to the area you plan to get tattooed. It also helps to wear clothing that is dark in colour, just in case some ink gets on it.

Feel free to bring some comfort items like a clean blanket, a book, headphones, snacks and some water. These are useful for longer sessions.

Do you send tattoo designs ahead of booking?

Our artists have a busy workload, so we do not draw designs ahead of booking in a client.

once you book in and secure your appointment with a deposit, your artist will start working on your design. Typically we prep a week in advance. We typically do not send out designs in advance. We always have lots of time when you come in for your appointment to go over the design and make small adjustments as necessary.

As a reminder: significant changes to your design idea may lead to a loss of your deposit (ex: initially wanted a butterfly and now requesting a portrait piece).

Are you taking on any apprentices?

Thanks for your interest! Our studio is not taking on any apprentices at this time.

We are more than happy to go over your portfolio, answer questions or give you a tour of the shop!
